Flash flooding causes water rescues, road closures across St. Louis region

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – All 4 significant interstates heading to downtown St. Louis have at least just one closure subsequent flash flooding early Tuesday morning.

At 3:30 a.m., initially responders blocked off all lanes of eastbound Interstate 64 near Grand. It reopened just right before 7 a.m. Tuesday. On Interstate 55, motorists were diverted off the freeway just before Potomac. Eastbound Interstate 44 is the 3rd interstate afflicted. All lanes ended up shut at Hampton

Just previous 6 a.m., the St. Louis Fire Office documented a number of cars and trucks stranded on Interstate 44 close to Jefferson Avenue.

Motorists would have to discover an alternate route on eastbound Interstate 70 close to Pure Bridge and Jennings Station Highway. In addition, Interstate 70 was shut in equally directions in close proximity to Mid Rivers Shopping mall in St. Charles.

Cpl. Dallas Thompson with the Missouri Highway Patrol advised drivers to not vacation on interstates in St. Louis and St. Charles counties until eventually after the early morning commute to allow the water to recede.
