California Gov. Gavin Newsom is shelling out time with family in Montana — a point out on California’s checklist of banned destinations to journey to using state cash.
The Workplace of the Governor clarified that Newsom did not use condition cash for the journey.
Montana, along with 22 other states, is banned from journey using point out money since of Montana’s anti-LGBT guidelines.
“The vacation ban applies to expending condition funds,” Erin Mellon, communications director for Newsom, instructed Insider. “The Governor’s journey is not remaining paid out for by the point out. Connecting the two is irresponsible and falsely indicates there is some thing untoward.”
Newsom departed for a vacation to the treasure condition on Friday but did not at first announce in which he was touring. He will return property on Monday, Mellon stated.
